Dante’s restaurant, just 12 minutes by car from midtown Manhattan is Located in the heart of hip and cool Williamsburg, at the corner of Hope and Roebling Street and occupies a former warehouse space. The large brick archways of the abundant windows and entranceway are covered with wrought iron gates produced by a noted local artist. The spacious interior is decorated with an eclectic mix of art from nationally known graffiti artists as well as a mix of memorabilia from bygone B-boy days as well as local artists. The music mix is classic R &B, Soul, reggae and country music featuring artists such as Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, Barry White, Bob Marley and of course the spinners.

Now the most important thing- the food! Dante himself spent much of his youth in the south savoring such favorites as chicken fried steak and cheese grits as well as real good fried chicken, not the colonels -but the type his grams cooked! The one problem he had as he got older is that he became very health conscious and the soul food or southern comfort food he knew and loved wasn’t available in the North east like his Grams made. Everything was just a fast food rip-off of what he knew and loved- then he met Chef Norman. Chef Norman is not your run of the mill cook; Norman is a talented chef that also spent a long time in the Deep South with the very same passion for southern hospitality and home cookn’ that Dante enjoyed as a child.

Dante and Chef Norman got to work over several months developing our present offering, and I have to say it is bring a smile on your face delicious. We use all the best fresh ingredients-every dinner is made to order.
